Am I a bad person?

I often like spending alone time. I mean I have friends and siblings lots of them, but I don’t like to engage with them to much. I like to be alone and get overwhelmed when I socialize to much with ppl. Like one weekend or tops two weekends is enough for be to go out and socialize.

Anywho I feel bad because my sister invited our siblings from out of town to visit but i don’t. I don’t really care to much for my families company if I am being completely honest as I don’t connect with them really but I do love them and care for them but never invite them over.
Relatable. Being alone in your own space is a privilege and I love it. I'm never lonely and lately it's really annoying me that I can't really talk to any of my family about anything really. I enjoy talking to people about stuff that really matters and about things that can make me smarter or help me gain a new insight on something or just help me refine my current insight on something and almost all of my friends and family just don't get it. I've tried to relate to them and I do relate to them but I feel like it's always me making an effort to relate to them because they have nothing to really offer me in terms of conversation.

as long as you've made it clear that you love them and you've tried to tell them that you just like to be alone then that's all you can do. you aren't a bad person for that

No. Its your time to spend. You don’t owe it anyone else....unless its your kids...
Do what makes you feel happy. Stop living for everyone else.

@JaneCas that is a pity in some ways you feel towards your family in this way but ok i can understand you like you own personal space and your own company fair enough some people can be a little introvert

I think we really need to find our own pace. I have always loved solitude and my own company (loneliness is obviously another matter) Now I can mix as the occasion demands, but I still need time alone. So much is just noise.

It doesn't make you a bad person, it just makes you an introvert.
I love my family but there's a point at which I just say "Bye", and leave the room. It's called self-care. 🙂

You're under no obligation to associate with people you don't like simply because an accident of birth has you all sharing some DNA.
