I’m so relieved neither of my girls like barbie. Ones a Jedi, the other is a Gryffindor.

The internet madness can stay on the other side of the screen. There’s just wand and lightsaber fights to break up…
I played with Barbies as a child and had so much fun! I can credit playing with Barbies my becoming a creative little girl. I once made, on my own, a mini treehouse in our garden for my Barbie pretending she was stranded in a jungle and had to live among animals (my other animal toys) and I would pretend she would gather food and make pretend fire pits and fight jungle beasts....... she, of course, always won 😄 Later on, I learned to sew little dresses for her with my grandmother's help by teaching me how to use a sewing machine when I was 12. Today, I am able to make my own tops and skirts ( pants are still a challenge but hopefully I'll learn how one day).

I think it's fantastic that your girls love being a Jedi and the other a Gryffindor, they are awesome characters. Children are blessed with that fantastic sense of wonder and imagination, it will help shape who they will be one day. It's fleeting though, those magical moments and innocence, and best enjoyed while they can because as adults, sadly sometimes we lose those two things when we become jaded because of the sad and bad things in life. So don't worry or fear if they would like to play with a Barbie doll one day, Barbie dolls do not corrupt the minds of children nor turn them materialistic. I have many fond memories of playing with my Barbie and am appreciative of having the chance to do so. If I may say so, I can honestly say I turned out quite well☺️

@LilMissAnonyMOUSE Same, the message with barbie is she can do anything and be anything she wanted to be.
@Juvia I believe that too. There are hundreds of Barbies created that represent strong women in society, A doctor and nurse Barbie, a judge, a lawyer, a Mommy Barbie, a military Barbie, an Olympic athlete Barbie and even an astronaut Barbie. It helps little girls dream of one day attaining those same achievements ☺️

I was never a big Barbie fan either, although I had a few that people bought for me.
