Do you have a jealous friend or sibling?

I'm not sure jealous is the word but I know my older brother gets frustrated when his little brother can do the things he cant do or do things better than he can. This is not me tooting my own horn. I try to keep a low profile, I don't want him getting discouraged. Like at the gym, we weight lift together. Most exercises we're equal on weight, sometimes I do more than he does but I try to hide it. Today he was playing Jedi Fallen Order and getting frustrated with this puzzle. He put the controller down to grab his phone and look up the answer, while he was gone I took a swing at it and figured it out in 2 minutes. I didn't tell him of course. I really don't think I'm the smarter brother. I've made some pretty stupid ass mistakes, a lot more than he has. But I try to stay discrete when there are things I know or can do that he can't. He has a competitive spirit and doesn't like to lose

I think sibling hierarchy is difficult for a lot of people. It probably unfortunately has more to do with your parents’ recognition/scolding more than anything you’ve actually done directly.

I’ve had friends who became jealous. I distance myself from those people, but you can’t cut off family so easily 😅 Admittedly, sometimes I feel hints of jealousy when it comes to my little brothers, but that’s because of our parents favoritism over the years. It’s not their fault at all though, so I never let it affect our relationship.

I'm the jealous sibling. All of my siblings have their own career without worrying who look after their elders. They work far away from home. I can't. I give up a lot of things in this adulthood and it feel wasted so bad.
Besides, as the youngest, they seemed never let me go to be as independent. They afraid of me going astray doing drugs or something illegal. They fearmongering me nonstop about living alone as I might got rape because I looked defendless and vulnerable.
I feel like I am not an adult anymore.
I've been being control this and there.

My sister was always jealous of me. I was born 8 years after she was and I think she didn't like not being "the only one" any more. 😆😆😆😆

My brother told me once after basedropping a tone of speed that he has always been jealous of me because I have a family. But then I did marry the girl he was in love with throughout his education. So that’s probably on me.

my BF's Niece is like this. i just give her subtle hints until she figures the rest out herself. always funny when she uses my sneaky hints and beats him at the video games they play.
JestAJester · 31-35, M
@bugeye i do that a little too. I usually claim ignorance or tell him i had difficulty with that part of the game. Sometimes im like "how in the hell did you do that?" Gets him smiling every time

Yeah I have some jealous friends and it's annoying. Among siblings it's more understandable.
SW-User
i am the jealous sibling
JestAJester · 31-35, M
@SW-User Whys that
SW-User
@JestAJester i hate that he has so many good friends while i dont have even one true friend, overall i envy his lifestyle too bc he enjoys his life so much and ive never experienced that (btw i always want the best for him so im not hateful or smth, i just feel bad)
JestAJester · 31-35, M
@SW-User I hope hes not jealous of me. If I am smarter, which I doubt, he's more mentally stable than I am. He's well liked, got friends, got a great girlfriend, a good head on his shoulders, doesn't let his vices take control. He's by far more stable than I am. I tend to act on instinct, emotion, or whatever vice happens to be the loudest at the moment
Yea I do, but she is also very encouraging.
