Could I legally move out from my parents house and go to another family member?

I don't want to stay at home anymore.

Not sure on legal emancipation of a minor laws in your country...but it would cost you a lot of money, and you wouldn't win the lawsuit unless you can prove physical abuse.

@4meAndyou My parents don't physically abuse me, but mentally they do.
They drink a lot, even when I have to get up for school in the morning. They don't let me eat proper food even when I came anaemic. They also won't let me take medicine a doctor said would help me with anxiety because they don't believe in it.

@Manfredthemanic Your father sounded very nice and really good to you a while ago. I wonder what happened.

@4meAndyou My mum happened. Papa would be okay, but he listens to my mum. 😔 Sometimes he says that he will play a board game with me, but then says no because mum wants him to do something.

The other option would be to try to get emancipation but that's difficult.

Oh, what's happened? 😨

@Manfredthemanic I think you should have a good talk with your brother about how it might work if you were to live with him. It would be a big change with lots of things to think about. ❤️
Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
@Fluffybull Yes, but I'm a good kid and wouldn't be difficult to take care of. I do everything by myself anyway. My brother could still go to university and work and those things.

@Manfredthemanic 🙂👍

Depending on the reason your parents may have to agree.
SOX4534 · 41-45, M
@Manfredthemanic send me a PM with exactly why you want to move out and then I can better give you my opinion.
Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
@SOX4534 I'm not allowed to message you. 😔 But I want to because they drink a lot, even when I have school. I'm not allowed to take medicine for anxiety because they don't believe in it, but I have it bad. They also don't think I have anxiety or autism and my brother had to force them to get me a therapist, but now he's paying. They make me eat certain food and ban me from eating things that are good for me like milk and bread. They also make me feel bad.
SOX4534 · 41-45, M
@Manfredthemanic based on that your brother might be able to take your parents to court for custody of you if that's something he wants to do.

Or a simpler possibility is your brother has a conversation with your parents and they simply allow you to move in with him.
SOX4534 · 41-45, M
How old are you?
SOX4534 · 41-45, M
@Manfredthemanic a 3rd option could be to call Child Protective Services and make your case for child abuse. This is all assuming everything you've said is true.
Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
@SOX4534 Yes, it's true. But I don't want my parents to go to prison. I just want to live with my brother because he understands me better than them.
Fluffybull · F
@Manfredthemanic I don't think they'd go to prison but you could be able to negotiate having someone else look after you.
Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
Yes, I know I'm a minor and I have to do what my parents say. But if I explained why, would I be able to go live with my brother instead?
