Mostly it's just a cry for attention. If people really wanted to "off" themselves nothing is more effective than a high building...above 5 story's.

@foldedunfolding I did spell it "stories" and then it seemed wrong. Then I wrote "storie's" but that seemed weird too. Then I wrote "story's" and just left it at that because I thought any intelligent person would know what I meant. So the comment, apparently, wasn't for you.
