Do you think one of the ladies was being rude about my size?

So I’m a tall girl….well young woman at 5’11”3/4. NO I AM NOT 6ft TALL! I am approximately 257lbs (not telling you my real weight).
Anyways when we were doing something called CPI training, when we were discussing how to handle students when they get aggressive of violence, one of the ladies said, “Well since you work with the littles and you’re so tall, it’s going to be very difficult for you to sit on those small chairs and it can easy break when you sit on it and holding on to the child when he/she gets aggressive. You should request bigger chair for you.” I did agree with her but it did hurt my feelings a bit. Another girl said, “Yeah she has a point. Someone your size can easily hurt someone smaller and you can easily break the tiny chairs. Plus you’re very tall. For the teacher Mrs. (Let’s call her N) is a little lady so it will be different since she’s petite and little. No offense.”
That really hurt my feelings. But I didn’t show it. Mrs. N (who I met and is very kind) is a little lady at about I am guessing 4’9”. The other assistant is about 5’6”.

It won't be the last time, and you did well not to let on that it hurt your feelings.
And there is no point in harping on the fact that you are a little less than 6 feet. People like to round to extremes. If they can make something sound impressive, they will. When my daughter was trying to make a point about something, she rounded her father's age to 80, even though he is less.
People are going to remark that you're tall and it will never stop, so you might as well accept it and think about more important things.

@LaylaTheTallGirl I'm not denying any of that--that you've always been tall and that your mother was tall.

@Poppies I didn’t like when you say people will always remark on how tall I am. People don’t do it to smaller women 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
My sister is 5’2” and her mom is a little woman. We’re half siblings. Her mom is 4’10” and our dad was 5’7” my brother is 5’7” in a half.

That’s ridiculous and creating a work environment that’s not hostile but hurtful and demeaning.

5’11” is taller than most females but that makes you unique. I once ha gf who was a NY Runway model and she could look me straight in my eyes as she was 6’3”. When we came across one another we both had this strong attraction.

She too could have done without the daily and completely obvious statements as well. Hmu if you want to chat sometime

@GabbySA8 thanks. My apologies for the misunderstanding. The teacher that she’s talking about is I guess you say tiny so it’ll be different for her because she won’t break pictures of easily as she will become she’s smaller and lighter than her.

Good for you for holding it in and toughen it out. I’m sure they mean well. Just request for a bigger chair. Look people will always have something to say. It’s the truth.

@ElizabethBabe1994 people don’t say crap about shorter women. That was……harsh
GabbySA8 · 22-25, F
Its not your height, its the 250lbs which no woman can hit healthily
ElizabethBabe1994 · 26-30, F
@LaylaTheTallGirl She is telling you the truth!
GabbySA8 · 22-25, F
@LaylaTheTallGirl yeah, I can give you my gym program if you want it

@GabbySA8 that will help. Don’t give in to her temper tantrums.
