I never go.

I never go to the doctor anymore this year is that weird? They always say everything looks good so to me it's just a waste of time.

If you have health insurance, just go. It's free, or with a small deductible.
Better to be safe with regular exams and blood tests than find something out after it is too late.

@disturbedchicken Good. I'm happy to hear that 😊.
I have my annual physical next week with a new NP myself 😳

@Teslin yeah, it's just annoying to me I hate dealing with medical staff like receptionists and doctors.
Teslin · M
@disturbedchicken Yes. It can be intimidating. I changed practices due to distance and a couple of mediocre past visists. I felt like I was a number, not a patient.

I have not been for years. I think last time was 2020. I have been pregnant but did not need to be seen by a doctor, only midwives for standard checks. In my most recent pregnancy, I did not even see a midwife until I gave birth.

It’s good to have things checked out from time to time. That’s what you want to hear. Everything looks good.

They always begin with "How are you". If you politely answer "good" it's game over.
disturbedchicken · 31-35, F
@SW-User ikr wtf.

I didn't go either when I was in my 30's. when i turned 40 I started going I started going for preventive stuff ---make a plan to live as long as I can kinda thing. I still remember my first doctor visit --he said "lose weight" I was maybe 20-25 over weight--I lost it a long time ago--weigh less now 15 years later.

But it so funny how blunt medical professionals can be.

U are suppose to go to the doctor at least once a year. U don't want anything to appear
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Well, if you're healthy then what for? I wouldn't go either if I didn't have any problems.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@CrazyMusicLover It's also here but for actual stuff, like if the doc finds you with a fever and actual symptoms. If you go there with merely a runny nose, but no congestion, no signs of a fever, they'll give you 3 days lol
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Elessar Ah, you must say you also have back problems then. 😆

Are these actual doctors?
@disturbedchicken Hmmm...so they service men orally? Ok.

So you want to find doctors who service women orally, is that it? Those are not called "doctors", those are gigolos/male prostitutes or female prostitutes. I think your appointments will cost more but be more successful.

😉🤣

Ok, seriously, sorry you've had problems. I hope you can find people easier to understand and easier to take as people.

It sounds rough so I was just trying to give a little comic relief.

@SomeMichGuy idk wtf you mean by that but yeah, no.

yeah I never used to go - now I go once a year just to make sure I'm not ignoring something

at your age - probably not all that necessary
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
1x a year is good for a general physical, be glad that you are that health. but you really need to go if something changes
Ferric67 · M
I'm the same way, I feel as if I'm wasting their time
lpthehermit · 56-60, M

Nitedoc · 51-55, M
Not at all. I'm glad you're healthy.
