I always visit the same places in my dreams…

That don’t exist in real life. It seems like I’ve created a whole parallel universe in my head. Lol

My dreams paint highly-detailed images of their locations, indoors or outdoors, but they divide these into two themes:

- They invent totally strange places nothing like anything I have ever seen, but may include a few real people (friends, etc.).

Or...

- They take real places but create very strange, rather surreal versions of them; and these normally include people relevant to the place and my connections to it .

Since dreams are thought to be fleeting side-effects of the brain doing a lot of housekeeping in the archives, so we can expect references to real things, people or personal worries and fears, it's hard to see how Case One occurs.

For Case Two, I have dreamt about work since I retired nearly eight years ago, far more often than when I was at work!

Dreams can be right peculiar but I although I find them fascinating technically - as an aspect of biology - I am very careful not to fall for all that mawkish "dream interpretation" rhubarb.

I had that as well in the past, mostly places I've been around often. But the contexts didn't fit sometimes, like college lectures in a church.

I remember a few places like that from my dreams and wish I could go back. But these places are never the same.

I have a theory. To visit the same place again in your next dream, you have to navigate it a bit when you’re awake. Simply by thinking about what you saw for a while. This way you’ll encourage your memory to recall or shall I say “save” the locations so that your brain can use them in the future. Like in the background @CrazyMusicLover

I visit places in my dreams that I've never even been to in my waking life.

Yes! Me too. My “dreamscapes”.

I love this word. @HypnoChode

@HypnoChode i remember the movie Dreamscape. There are rimes i know im dreaming and try to take over the dream.
Same here... But places I visit do exist

That actually sounds like it can be a gift or a curse. If it was a good place in your mind to escape to, then holy cow that's pretty amazing! But if we're talking about nightmares and haunts, we're gonna need the Winchester boys.
