What's the strangest dream you've ever had?

Well, I once dreamt I was on the African veldt, lost.

I had no idea of which way to go. On one side of me there was a herd of elephants with a big bull elephant looking very menacing, opposite to them was a large tree 🌳 with a leopard sitting up in its boughs, some wildebeest were close by and also a recently drained waterhole with several buzzards pecking at the mud on the side which was drying rapidly in the hot sun 🌞.

Suddenly I heard someone approaching me, heavy feet, and scared I turned, there was an elephant calf, who looked at me with that childish sense of fearless enquiry, and as I met it's stare, it tossed it's little trunk up in the air, and with a distinct white Rhodesian voice it asked me, "Are you lost?"

My mind rushed back to my first meander down the Walworth Road alone aged ten, in my little summer frock, when I bumped into a middle aged man under the railway bridge, who asked me the same question!

In all of the more than 40 years, with just one short redundancy, of full-time employment I do not recall dreaming of work more than once.

Until I retired, a few years ago. Then my one common-theme though not strictly recurring dream, became of my last place of work. The locations in my dreams have always been very strange versions of real places; and these work-place dreams were no exception, with the location, buildings etc. becoming not only different but more and more surreal with each. These dreams seem becoming rarer now though.

Of the people in these dreams, one or two would be familiar as former colleagues and the rest at best strangers though more commonly drawn not as "real" people but as merely vague, unidentifiable palimpsests. Each a misty shape signifying, "Here be a person". That phenomenon has been common to almost every dream I could recall.

("... recall". Bear in mind that we normally forget most if not all of a dream's contents or even its occurrence pretty well immediately on waking; to the extent that some people say they "never" dream.)
.

The one work-dream while I was employed? I worked in a room that held a large, open water-tank. I dreamt I had returned from a holiday to find the room had been turned into an open-plan office in which the tank was now an ornamental pond complete with water-lilies and I think, a fountain. Daft enough, yes; disturbing in that the dream's narrative displaced me; but it would not have been so bad if I had not dreamt it while I actually was away on holiday!

"I Don't Want To Be Alone"

It started with a dream, Her dream.

A gathering of friends and family,

Me, sitting on a rock.

Photographing the smiles, the laughter,

the shenanigans.

And she looked around, and I was gone.

Vanished into thin air, right before her eyes,

Should have been no surprise.

I'd been dead for months, yet I was always watching over Her,

Them.

Tears flowed like an autumn rain,

Grief flowed down her cheek,

Driving her insane.

My dream, deep within my sleep-

The image of Her.

Her touch, still warm as the sun,

Her laughter, her love, her ability to make me feel as

One.

I'm alone, and God knows, I don't want to be.

I don't want to be alone, be alone, be alone.

I don't want to die alone, die alone, die alone.

Alone, without Her,

I might as well be

Dead...

Tears from from my face, soaking the pillow where I smother my head.

Sweat soaks the sheets, my body tangled in this lonely bed.

God knows, I don't want to be alone, be alone,

Be alone.

I wake up, her soft, hot skin tells me I'm alive,

and so is she, so it seems.

My soul dances to her voice,

As she speaks to me softly-

"I had a dream," she says.

Another dream I was on a school field trip. We were at an amusement park. I heard a loud shrieking coming from inside of a sewer. I looked in the sewer and a man was down there waving at me and screaming frantically

I figured he was down there for some time that’s why he was so upset. We called ems and firefighters arrived with ladders and things to be able to get the man out

I look down the hole again with a flashlight and I saw something run by so quickly I wasn’t able to see it

There the entire floor was painted red with blood and littered with severed Human body part which consisted of legs and arms because everything else wasn’t there....... no torsos no heads just limbs 🤭😐

Whenever I get deja vu in my dreams it's the most jarring experience. My mind combines 2 or more places and tricks my brain into thinking it's a nostalgic place I've been to. Even when dreaming I question it but when I wake up I realize I was never there.

But yeah, I had a dream that I was at one of these places and I was being chased by jaguars that would float around and go through walls and doors like they were ghosts.

Are you sure English isn't your first language? Lol

Ever since I've been on medication, my dreams have been very, very strange; trying to think of the strangest one is a task that's too stressful to carry out. 😆

I recently wrote down one in a post... Let me try to find it.

I was a child. I dreamt I was on a bridge looking into a stream.

My mom appears. Only she is disgusting and had a similar color to the fish guy on hellboy and she was bald too. She was a mermaid only she was frightening and disturbing. She randomly pulls out a razor blade and begins scalping herself
