Today I Learned...

Today I learned that steam can easily trigger a smoke detector.

I was cleaning my bathtub and when I finally got to rinsing it, the smoke alarm in the hall started buzzing.

I then found out it was the steam from the hot water I using to rinse the tub that was causing the smoke alarm to buzz.

@Tenletters Definitely.

Happened to me once also. Alarm is directly outside the bathroom door.
Showering with the door open, the alarm was activated.
Since then I shower with the door closed.

@Gusman That's where my smoke alarm in my house is located, too.

I definitely wouldn’t have known that! 🙃
This post should be flagged as “Adult Content” because of how steamy it is 😶‍🌫

'Twas just a joke.

Despite my own sense of humor, I'm generally a serious person by nature and because of that, I sometimes have difficulty telling whether someone's joking or not, so by default, I always assume the person making said "joke" is being serious.

To me, a joke is along the lines of: "Two cannibals are eating a clown and one says to the other: 'Does this taste funny to you?'"

Now THAT'S a joke and I know many more.
@Sidewinder I suppose my sense of humour is an acquired taste, as any cannibal trying to chase me down would agree 😉

Regrettable that they haven't done more to perfect those things after so many years.🙄
