Had a friend who was quite wealthy but very nice didnt act like he was rich, tell me they went to a couples house who were much richer and they showed them a wallpaper sample for some remodeling they were doing. They asked didnt you just remodel your house and the wife laughed oh yes this is for our private jet remodel!!

My in laws are practically aristocrats but they’re pretty down to earth. So long as you get passed the “big house on a country estate” and all the cars and horses, they’re good people, and they are supportive when times are hard.

When I was a kid I felt this way even about new wooden floor in people's homes. I knew it wasn't real luxury and I was aware it is colder than carpets but the fact is that it still looks much better to me to this day.
