I used to listen to music all the time but now I rarely do, and when I do it makes me feel a certain way, where I like it but I also want to turn it

Off, no matter what it is…. Older songs, like from the 80s I’ll listen longer, but I get that same feeling; of liking it but wanting it to be off… for the passed 5 years I’ve just been listening to ppl talk/podcast…I’m not sure why and I’m not sure if I should be concerned about this or not?

Girl! It's as if I wrote this. It started for me around late 2023. And I used to be a huge fan of music, it was the biggest part of my emotional life, I used to have ecstatic outbursts just from listening certain songs. Now I have periods when it's almost like noise and I can't connect emotionally.

Relateable!

I don't listen to it even half as much as I once did, usually only if I'm in the car or on a road trip or some such.

Can't imagine having that amount of noise being streamed into my ears and brain all the time. I must have my quiet and peace.🏞

I love music, I did have a time I couldn’t listen to it, music makes you feel, I’m highly sensitive and felt numb. 😬 I couldn’t handle it at the time.
When I listen at home, I prefer instrumental or classical music. I focus on individual sections such as strings, brass, woodwinds, etc.
In the truck, I like to sing-a-long and harmonize. But when they play the same songs over and over from a corporate national playlist, I have to shut it off.

I seriously could not live without music. It's my world.
