How would you react when mugged?

I was mugged in broad daylight 40 years ago. There are many ways one might imagine they’d react, but I had no real idea until it happened.

The person knocked me off my feet, trying to get my purse, and the strap was wrapped around my arm so he dragged me until it came loose.I think I was too shocked to even scream.

What I couldn’t have imagined was what other people would do.

A mail carrier chased the guy, yelling at him, a woman in a Volkswagen tried to hit him with her car, and an elderly couple ran over to me, helped me up and waited with me until the police arrived.

What changed for me is, I stopped carrying large purses, and I try never to be unaware of my surroundings when I’m out and about. I’m not enmeshed in my phone, I don’t listen to music when I’m walking.

I was robbed without being attacked years ago. They stole my purse and phone. It made me feel unsafe for ages as I had no idea someone was that close to me.

I haven't been mugged, but got jumped by 5 lads.
I was with a friend outside a chipshop, whent two cars pulled up and they all got out, and set upon us with a barrage of kicks and punches.

My friend managed to get away and i was curled up just being kicked. It was a scary event for sure.

I've been mugged a few times. I fought back and lost each time. Lost my sense of smell because of one mugging in Seattle in 99. Creeps are teeming over they are literally everywhere in u.s..

Last time: They were waiting on the bike track where it went down hill in the dark shadowy part. They grabbed for my handle bars. Knocked me off the bicycle. I dunno how I fought them off. I was just lucky they didn't have a knife.

Been mugged. I carry a lot of money after work. I reacted by firing 4 shots from a 9mm. Would have been more if he had not of dodged behind a car.

I have never been mugged, but I have been groped a lot in crowded spaces.

Unfortunately I know from experience that I will fight back or die trying.

It depends what kind of weapon they have. I can't beat a bullet, but I'm good in a fight or with a knife.

I'd feel stupid for not seeing it coming, but if my family is involved, then give them everything they want and protect my family.

They can have it. I'd be more angry than anything, but my life is worth more than fighting them
