how do i get my annual bloodtests done when i'm afraid

my annual bloodtests are long overdue by many months to check on my diabetes type 2....but ive not arranged them because i have a deep fear of anything medical or clinical, so ive kept postponing it....plus i have mental health problems i manage so ive not been mentally up for it.....but ive just gone ahead and made an appointment to have my annual bloodtests done for mid march and i'm scared....

i've not been swimming at the gym for many months, over the winter months and ive gained about two stone in weight.............so i'm thinking what if they find something in my bloodtests?

when i first got diagnosed with diabetes type 2 years and years back after living an unhealthy lifestyle...i did something about it RIGHT AWAY, i went swimming regularly and watched my diet and lost 3 stone...so quite an achievement for me...i got rid of the diabetes.......but now ive gained weight again and been inactive at the gym...so i'm frightened.

any thoughts at all?

I have to have my A1c check too..I skipped it last year. I was on the cusp of type 2 diabetes. So lost twenty pounds. I was still too nervous to get it checked again. But this year I'm going to. I say, just get it checked and if it's higher again for you or in the type 2 range, ask if you can again bring it down naturally through diet and exercise. I'm sure that will be ok, and you can slowly bring it back down.

You have to THINK instead of FEELING.

THINK about what it would be like to contract full blown diabetes, and not know it, the dizziness...passing out in public...being taken by ambulance to the hospital.

THINK about the needles you would have to face every single week if your kidneys fail and you have to undergo dialysis.

THINK about the things you eat and how much you eat, and THINK about where this will end for you if you fail to exercise.

THINK about all of those things, and then THINK about how easy one little blood test is, in comparison to needle sticks daily for the rest of your life.

Just THINK.
