Have you been in a situation where you were not a part of the original plan?

I was once invited to a movie but wasn't told that I was a substitute for someone else who couldn't make it. Only later I realized 🤦‍♀. If you knew in advance that you were not part of the original plan (without people telling you) would you still go?

.I guess it depends on the circumstances. My middle sister once invited me to go see The Lion King when it was playing in my city. She had originally invited our mother, but Pop had already made plans for them that weekend.

So since Sis had already come by the tickets for that specific day, she called me. I didn’t take it amiss; she’d still thought of me, I was being treated, and it was something I’d been wanting to go see.

Now if had been a date or something and I was feeling like a consolation prize, that would be different, of course.

@bijouxbroussard But you knew in advance about the situation?
@solitaire Not when she invited me. When she picked me up, she mentioned she’d bought the tickets planning to take Mom.

One time I was invited to a rock concert. When I got there my friend expected me to pay for my ticket which surprised me but ok. Then I found out the whole point of the exercise was that my friend had gotten himself a better seat than he originally had and couldnt get a refund on his original seat. So he sold me his seat in the bleacher section while he saw the concert from the lower section.
@TAReturns That was kind of messed up to not divulge from the beginning. You might’ve still wanted to go.

I guess I can't be really picky when it comes to social events. If there was an event I'd like to attend but I'd need another person for it, I think I would gladly take an opportunity. I mean events/places where it would be really weird and uncomfortable to be alone.
Absolutely. If you never try new things, you will never evolve nor learn. How did you know you might not have been picked? Let it go. Move forward. Life is a learning process.
Probably would if it would be interesting. Being something like you described, probably would.
Circumstances sound sketchy, but do not let that deprive you from a potentially fun experience.

one of my horrified and most memorable experience of my life where I was hired in a last moment of an old ancient rituals of Chinese races , they hired me bcoz of am looking like a bit Chinese in my looks as the girl who was hired first (original Chinese race ) denied by knowing the fact that what would be going to happened with her , honestly speaking if I knew that in beginning I never been really in a choice to move there

If I knew in advance? Probably, but I would be a little hurt by it maybe...

You can ask them later, you could have continued without me if I was not in the original plan.

I don't know. That has never happened to me. Maybe. If I really wanted to see the movie.

Totally depends on the circumstances 🤷‍♂
You mean you were like an afterthought to their failed plans? Not cool 😬😳
