Have you been in a situation where you were not a part of the original plan?

I was once invited to a movie but wasn't told that I was a substitute for someone else who couldn't make it. Only later I realized 🤦‍♀. If you knew in advance that you were not part of the original plan (without people telling you) would you still go?

.I guess it depends on the circumstances. My middle sister once invited me to go see The Lion King when it was playing in my city. She had originally invited our mother, but Pop had already made plans for them that weekend.

So since Sis had already come by the tickets for that specific day, she called me. I didn’t take it amiss; she’d still thought of me, I was being treated, and it was something I’d been wanting to go see.

Now if had been a date or something and I was feeling like a consolation prize, that would be different, of course.

@bijouxbroussard But you knew in advance about the situation?
@solitaire Not when she invited me. When she picked me up, she mentioned she’d bought the tickets planning to take Mom.
