If your son became a priest would you call him father?

SteelHands · 61-69, M
In the Catholic tradition it is customary to violate Jesus exortation in Matt 23:9 in which he states, call no man father and call no man on this earth master because we have but one good father who is in heaven, there is only one master who is the same one in heaven.

Yet that Moses delivered the law to 'honor [our bilogical] fathers and mothers', the distinction is clear about who our good father is and that our own are not the good father, but our father of a different sort.

I would call my son, were he a catholic priest by the respected name.

Knowing that all fall short of the glory and perfection of our true and good father in heaven. However I know that the one above understands that I know what I mean when I use the term and allows to forgive me for it.
It all depends on the location... in church and his official capacity, yes.

At home, no. Even priests need that down time to just be a man - whatever form that takes for them.

No. I don’t call any priest father which caused an issue at the Catholic Church my grandmother forced me to attend on summer vacation.

Nah it's too late in the day to be philosophical
