In my 78 years on this bountiful planet, I have lived through at least a dozen times when people have declared global insanity and the end of times.

yet in those 78 years the world population has doubled, life expectancy moved from 42 to the mid 70s, and the number of people, in a population TWICE the size, who are living in absolute poverty, declined from 38% to around 9%.
