What's the best way to deal with a stalker?

A guy used to stalk me a few years back, but he went to prison for beating up his ex wife. He is out of prison now and back on the scene.

He was parked outside my house yetsterday and followed me to work. He's at most places I go and I can see him staring at me out the corner of my eye. I pretend I don't notice him . It's like he's letting me knows he's back again.

My husband works away and it's impossible for him to come home. I did contact the cops for advice but there isn't anything they can do. I don't even know the guys full name and I haven't actually been threatened.

What's the best way to deal with this situation without provoking the guy as he is violent?

Take self defence classes, let your friends and relatives know about it, write down his number plate, arm yourself (pepper spray, gun), let him know you're aware of his presence, take him pictures and don't give up going to report it to the police. I believe once they realise how relentless and threatened you are, they will take action.

How do you know he went to jail if you dont know his name
Victorianna · 31-35, F
@SW-User because I know a woman who was his neighbour. She told me his first name but didn't know his surname.
@Victorianna How does she know he went to jail? Did she see the assault? Did she see him being arrested?
Victorianna · 31-35, F
@quitwhendone yes, she witnessed it in their front drive. She used to talk to his wife. His wife got an injunction out against him. Then he went to prison for beating her badly.She then moved
Make records, of when you see him.
Photos are great.. They will show where and when, and will identify his face.
Any other times ypu can't take a while photo, keep a little book on you to write them down, ans any other notes that may be relevant, like even your first meeting years ago with ypur dog.

They thrive on the impact and fear they create.
These people have so little to give on a personal level, this is their most powerful way for them to feel a sense of strength within themselves.

Don't let him see that he upsets ypu.
Stay calm, think strong, make it obvious when you take his photo... Shit, take three!😁... Dont hurry away, stay casual, but stay alert.
Dobt wear headphones walking.
And yes, anything you cab do to protect yourself
...if you can't get pepper spray immediately... Apparently wasp spray is pretty damn effective... Not as small a can, but it stings like shit!!!

Good luck.

Stay confident

Show no weakness.

@wildbill83 OMG haha that's sooo funny 😂😂
Do you know this guy? How did he meet you? Have you two actually had conversations? How often does he follow you around?
Victorianna · 31-35, F
@quitwhendone not personally. He approached me years ago when I was out walking my dog. He'd say inappropriate things to me and would follow me around. It became daily.

Recently it's becoming every other day. I only know his first name because he was a neighbour of a woman I know

You already know the answer, you’re just looking for permission.
Victorianna · 31-35, F
@xixgun no I don't at all. That's why I'm asking

@midnightsun like I stated, I have. They can't do anything. As he hasn't threatened me and I don't even know his surname or where he lives now
