WW2

Do you feel German would be the official language of England had America stayed out of the war. No iron, arms, ammo, man power, absolutely no help?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
Honestly, I'm not sure. I feel like the Russians might have still beaten the Nazis, though that's a big might. Germany made the exceptionally stupid decision of invading Russia in the wintertime.

However, it was primarily the Americans who fought in the Pacific Theater, so who knows, Japan might be much different today, possibly still a barbaric empire instead of a modernized world power.

The Soviet Union likely would have defeated Germany eventually, on its own, or at least forced it to end the war. Yet maybe Western Europe would still be under occupation? Yet would Britain have allowed that? Would it fight on?

Had Germany not invaded the Soviet Union then perhaps someday they could have overwhelmed Britain. Still, the Royal Navy had kept the smaller German Navy at bay and the Royal Air Force prevented Germany from gaining control of the skies, even before the invasion of the Soviet Union. So who knows? It may have dragged on to a stalemate, and ended in a peace treaty with Germany still in control of France, etc. Yet then somebody would invent the atom bomb and tilt the balance, and perhaps force a new solution (with or without using it).

Yet in these alternate histories, what would happen with Japan? Would it still have attacked the U.S? If Germany had not invaded the Soviet Union, would the Soviets have attacked Japan? So complex.

No, there would be an almost total revolting of that awful language, yes German may have been used to pacify, but we would never choose to.

@BlueMetalChick lol, fair play to you girl. Boys are nothing but trouble😊
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Graciebaby I’m probably just too money hungry if I’m being honest with myself. Ain’t got time for romance cos I’m always looking for the next way to make a buck.

That's your right, it wouldn't be my philosophy of life but each to her own.

Wealth, I know doesn't make you happy alone though.

I've gone through several scenarios. The most logical one is that the war would have gone into a stalemate. Long enough for Germany to develop nukes. Eventually, and by 1955, there would have been an all out exchange of nuclear weapons, between the US and Germany, driving humanity into total extinction by the year 2000.
You should research it a bit and see if there were any plans or direct ideas from those in charge for their plans for countries after taking them over.

I do doubt it though.

Not likely. England had an empire while Germany was attacking more countries that it could conquer.

@waleskinder Not really. By the end of the year the Battle of Britain had been won by Britain and Hitler had to delay his invasion and then changed his mind and attacked Russia with devastating results. Too many enemies on too many sides sank the Third Reich.
@hippyjoe1955 Hitler had them by the testies, if we wouldn't have been shipping food, weapons and ammunition the w3ould have quit. With all the materials and food we was sending they would have starved, been out of ammo, fuel and low on everything they needed to continue. With England out of the way the Germans would have had enough to continue the blitzkrieg. They would have all England had left and a lot more slaves. Once Germany finished Russia they would have all of her resources, time to recover and develop the weapons they was working on w/out worries of bombers. In about a year they would be ready to put the blitzkrieg on America, and it would probly work except for one little set back. So many Americans have guns that it would take all the blitz out of they're krieg.

I think the more important question would be what the hell would have happened to England had not us Americans come in and saved them?
TheThinker · 56-60, M
@Xena1234 I'm not sure I should say this but it's true. My Mum & Dad were in their early twenties during WW2, in London.

They always said to me that although they'd been worried about the Germans invading them, they were even MORE worried what would have happened if the Americans had then come in to liberate them.

Don't shoot the messenger, just repeating what they used to say!
