@Lilliesandlight What are you buying, waygu and lobster?
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@NativePortlander1970 we've got 7 in the house, all males except me. Everything is expensive as hell here.
@Lilliesandlight That's almost $400 a month for each person, I could get it to close to 1/4 that without even trying, and not sacrifice portions.

@HumanEarth thats so awesome
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@HumanEarth yeah even on our farm we still needed to purchase things that we didn’t grow or raise, salt and spices, things like bananas, pineapple, oatmeal, flour to bake with, yeast, green grapes, apples, coffee, tea, cooking oil, sugar, ketchup & other condiments, etc. We made our own breads, had eggs & dairy products we produced, meats, fresh fish we caught, veggies & fruits of many types, jellies & preserves, pickles of various types, popcorn, etc to last us through winter.

Patti I was going to say that, but got distracted with life
SubstantialKick · 36-40, M
I'm single with no kids, so about $120.
SW-User
@SubstantialKick Only $120 per month?
SubstantialKick · 36-40, M
@SW-User Well it does vary, of course. I get paid weekly and probably spend may $30-$40 on groceries a week. So I'd say $120-$160, depending on what I need and how much.

We’re a couple in Sweden and we stick to a budget of 10K SEK per month (just under $1000). We eat well with very few compromises.
