What is one thing you regret?

Telling my sister her homemade dress wasn't flattering for her.

I didn't mean for it to be so blunt, but it didn't look very nice on her. I should have found a better way or suggested ways to improve it. I still wish I could take it back 🥺

I regret not seeing my son's hurt and depression before his suicide. Being a 27-year veteran of the Army, I was numb to my son's depression signs. 😞😢😭
WillaKissing · 56-60
@Silentpleasure Thank you, and you are quite welcome.
MellyMel22 · F
@WillaKissing [c=BF0080]I’m so sorry for your loss. I can’t even imagine how difficult it was 😔❤️[/c]
WillaKissing · 56-60
@MellyMel22 Thank you! I pray you never know.

Getting the cookies and cream ice cream instead of the mint chocolate chip.

SW-User
@Silentpleasure yeah, that's how it felt. As soon as I saw someone eating the mint chocolate chip. Scarred for life. Maybe, after years of therapy, just maybe, I'll be okay.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@SW-User The road to recovery is a long one...but worth it in the end.
I regret letting myself say things I don't mean in the heat of the moment. Really want to work on not acting on my emotions
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@Bexsy I have finally mastered that. Has saved me jobs, friendships, and even relationships. Now if I can only master my crazy I will be fine :)
MellyMel22 · F
[c=BF0080]Not following a strong gut feeling. [/c]
@MellyMel22 it's tough to follow sometimes for a few reasons.
MellyMel22 · F
@froggtongue [c=BF0080]I know it can be, but when I get those strong ones- they’re always right for me. I didn’t want to pay attention w/things I had going on at the time. [/c]
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@MellyMel22 Great one....trust that gut feeling for sure.

being alive - my mother was 42 when she had me in 1963, and they didn't think I'd live. I so wish I hadn't.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
She took it personally probably. But there are clothing pieces that can be unflattering for anyone depending on their body shape etc. Even models may not look good in some items.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti It was not flattering. For a tall and skinny person, it made her look significantly overweight.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Silentpleasure Then it would have made everyone look overweight and shouldn’t even have been created.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@cherokeepatti She put the waistline just below her bust and made it so the dress flared out.

When my dad passed away it was during covid. Our family was in such disarray with all kinds of drama (like serious legal matters) even before his death and I didn’t feel like attracting more attention by informing the entire extended family. We published it online and in the paper once it was over but some people who live far away prob didn’t find out till much later and it wasn’t from me. I think they called me once afterward but I missed the call and never called them back. I just couldn’t handle the inundation of stress. I haven’t been in touch with them since and I feel bad about that too. They were always nice to me and my family. It’s been on my mind alot. They weren’t super close but I just don’t feel good about it
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@DoubleRings Im sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing and i hope you find peace soon enough with everything. You did your best given the circumstance and thats all anyone could ask 🤗
smiler2012 · 56-60
{@silentpleasure ] the way i spoke and treated my dad he was taken from us suddenly and i regret too this day i never had got the chance too say i was sorry sorry. i know deep down this will always haunt me and will go to my grave with me 😣
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@smiler2012 I know the struggle....I'm sure he loved you and would have forgiven you 🤗
SW-User
Doesn't sound like something bad, you were simply honest.
Besides that she is still free to wear it if she wants to..
I regret the trust I gave some people in the past.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@SW-User I was blunt when I shouldn't have been.

Yeah we all make that mistake when trusting people.
SW-User
@Silentpleasure well people should learn to not be too sensitive either
GLITTER · 36-40, F
Not everything has to be positive so it’s good you said something but tact is everything
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@GLITTER Learning that with time lol. 17 year old me didn't have any it seems.
GLITTER · 36-40, F
@Silentpleasure I’m the other end of the scale, I usually don’t say anything as I don’t like to cause upset but obviously that’s not a good way to be so I’m voicing my opinion more often now lol it’s good to be balanced lol
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@GLITTER Gotta find that perfect balance......Still far from doing it myself but oh well :)
Tracos · 51-55, M
one awkward stupid joke that closed so many doors
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@Tracos Have to work on your sarcastic delivery so it won't happen again. Sorry it happened :(
Tracos · 51-55, M
@Silentpleasure it wasnt even sarcastic... it was supposed to be funny....

some simple lessons hurt the most
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@Tracos Yeah but if you don't say it in an exaggerated sarcastic voice they won't know that and take it as a non joke.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
Oh yes, I know how it must have hurt.

I sometimes regret not trying to get to a better college, preferably abroad, when I was in my early 20s.
SW-User
You can always just tell her that you should not have said what you said.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@SW-User im about 15 years late on the apology. Damage already done
Staying in a soul sucking career too long
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@SlippingAway Yep, made that mistake a few times :(
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
My four years of alcoholism. I'd go back and undo it for sure if I could.
The one thing i regret is my whole life. 😅 😞
Torsten · 36-40, M
2 counts of grievous bodily harm
Sweetthing · F
I’ll bet that one stung, but I am sure you said it more to perhaps save her from maybe not thinking she looked great in it when objectively that was not the case.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@Sweetthing I had good intentions.....just horrible delivery.
Sweetthing · F
@Silentpleasure at least you recognized it, and learned from it
hiddenashlee02 · 22-25, F
I regret not telling me friend something similar about a bathing suit... And now she is not happy I was not honest. You did the right thing
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@hiddenashlee02 No I should have given constructive feedback and helped her fix it. I ruined her creative side and she never made anything again.
hiddenashlee02 · 22-25, F
@Silentpleasure OK... I see your point.. I did nothing at all.....
SW-User
Taking certain things for granted

I'm working on that
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@SW-User Don't miss it till its gone huh? Know that one all too well.
SW-User
@Silentpleasure it's not gone yet thankfully...
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@SW-User Glad to hear it :D
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Laughing at you telling your sister that. Honestly, I can't believe you were THAT blunt.
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@MarkPaul It was how I was when I was growing up.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Silentpleasure Well, I still regret laughing. It was... hurtful what you and I did.
As regrets go, that's an extremely mild one; congratulations on having such minor regrets!!
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@ElwoodBlues My sister never made custom cloths after that....I destroyed something she really liked and that is why it is a heavy regret.
That I don’t have a real set of tits.
Then I could stop using breast forms

Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@Submissiveiendencies Wouldn't say its an easy fix but there are options out there.
Dawgsfan3 · 41-45, M
We all say things like that at some point in our lives
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@Dawgsfan3 I hurt my sister, and I feel terrible about it. But you are correct, such statements always work their way in life.
Dawgsfan3 · 41-45, M
@Silentpleasure Just try to make it up to her and talk to her when you can
akindheart · 61-69, F
could you compliment her on the workmanship? find something nice to say.
SW-User
Leaving a great job
Silentpleasure · 31-35, F
@SW-User I am happy to say I have yet to make that mistake. Guess I choose crappy jobs to begin with, lol.
SW-User
@Silentpleasure I feel your pain
