Do you remember some nightmares you had as a kid?

There are a few that I remember in particular.

1. A recurring one where a mechanical toy clam with these big ass teeth, would come out of the laundry room and chase me around the house, or out of the house and around the block.

2. The old house that we lived in had fluorescent lights in the kitchen until I was a teenager. I remember another recurring dream where I would be standing in the kitchen, and the lights would suddenly starting making this weird rhythmic buzzing noise and flashing off and on and the house would start rumbling/shaking.

3. When I was really young, I had this dream where I was playing outside, and I looked up at the sky and saw these eerie and scary looking purple clouds, looming over the neighborhood with lots of thunder and lightning.

Very distinctly remember a fever dream from when I was five or six where I went to work with my dad and was devoured by a carpet in his office; it behaved sort of like quicksand when I stepped into it.

I also used to get these weird sleep paralysis moments when I was little where I'd wake up in my bed but still be dreaming and unable to move or speak? It's hard to describe. There would sometimes be a giant bird creature making this strange croaking noise, or an older woman sitting at the end of the bed staring at me.

Seeing fire starting in a neighbouring apartment or the apartment across the street was a common theme.

Then I'm not sure if I was still a kid but I used to have dreams when I ate something and only then realized it was poisoned, so I froze with dread and realized I messed up big time with something that's irreversible. That feeling when you don't feel anything yet but you know you're going to die.

Mm, I don't think this is actually a dream or even a nightmare, but i want to share it.

back in 2014 when I was 10 years old, my great-grandfather died, he was the closest person to me and I loved him very much, and that's how I was, I was his favorite grand daughter, I cried all day that day.

At night, when I was sleeping, I felt someone holding my knee, he seemed to wake me up, but it felt like a dream, so I ignored it, but still someone shook my knee and seemed to want to wake me up, then I opened my eyes and I saw my great-grandfather in front of me , he was standing with the light and the door behind him, he was wearing his favorite clothes, then he smiled at me and waved at me as he walked towards the door as if to say "I'm fine kid, don't cry, I'm in a better place now", the door was really shining, lighting up my room, then I closed my eyes, but I wasn't afraid and then I fell asleep again, when morning came I didn't tell anyone what happened last night.

Yes I walk down to the docks I was raised on and as I walk into the wooded area and dead animals are roaming around until they all stop and look at me slowly moving closer.

When I run I past the lake I grew up on it turns to blood and I see al my dead friends and family floating decaying and bloated in the blood/water.

Weird part of this dream and all my dreams is I’m muted, my mouth is either seen or melted and fused shut.

Sometimes I can make grunt sound but no dream I ever had was I able to communicate.

Even if it’s not a night terror I can move my mouth and tongue but no words come out.

I had a really bad recurring dream once probably when I was like 15. The way the neighborhood was set up if you walk to the end of my road, you could walk down 5th avenue to a traffic light past the elementary school. Being back on my road you could walk down Baltimore Street and that would intersect with fifth avenue.

In my dream I was at the part where Baltimore Street and 5th avenue come together, and there is this big white sphere, but it was soft like marshmallow but softer than that. On the road before the traffic light on 5th avenue, was a whole bunch of tiny little mountains. And these mountains were probably 5 to 6 inches tall.

In my dream, this white sphere would hit these mountains and then I would wake up and my hands would be tingling. I had this dream for three nights in a row and I was getting upset and mad because I wanted it to just stop. So I thought about maybe there was some way or something I could do to stop this sphere.

So on the 4th night, had the same dream again but this time I got in front of the sphere it didn't hit the mountains, and I woke up and my hands didn't tingle, and the dream never returned ever again. I don't know what started the dream, I don't know if what I did in the dream managed to stop it, I just know I was extremely happy that it was done.

I had a dream within a dream moment

I woke up to a very strange Bigfoot looking giant in front me.

We watched 2 movies one night and my brother and I both had a nightmare about them. I dreamed I was eaten by King Kong. And James dreamed he got stuck in the chocolate tube in Willy Wonkas Chocolate factory.
