I guess the closest thing to the internet was all the message scribbled on the back of the toilet /bathroom doors in the toilet blocks ,that was the only way to find out the gossip and rumours back in my day .

That is true we were only worried about our "permanent record." I never did figure out what exactly what that was.

I'm so glad it wasn't. we had such a blast, we shared the fun and the fights in person...

I would have been like a super villain if I had a smart phone as a teen. Not that I would have done anything illegal but I would have definitely not known how to use it responsibly

That's a chilling thought... rumor had it then, and in places the rumors still linger, that I wasn't the angel I am today.

So true I can still cringe thinking back about things I did mostly while drunk from 40yrs ago

I was only bullied in person. Kids these days can be bullied 24/7 by people they don’t even know.

The impact that I fear might have happened would have been due to cell phone pics and the ability to share them. My girlfriend/future wife was free to date others in college. What if her dates had shared nude pics of her? How tempted would I have been to call her during her dates? I see all kinds of chances for potential breakup.

yeah, for the next 10 years there will be leaks of photos when people run for office

but in another 10 - everybody will have the dirt on everybody else and they'll be afraid to play that card

Pretty sure my Parents would have disowned me if they'd seen some of the shit i got up to back then, thank gawd there were no phones with cameras!
