Are these the end times?

I'm not religious, not a 'believer' but seeing what is happening in the world it is difficult not to think we're long past the point of no return, and seeing the end of our civilization if not our species.

It is the end of the world as we know it. The current matrix is crumbling and those who continue to be slaves to it will go down with it. Many will perish but the Meek shall inherit the Earth and rebuild a civilized matrix based on Love. All is as it should be. Relax and enjoy the show.

Thats not how theses things work. The Roman Empire collapsed. But Italy is still there. So nations and people will suffer, by the millions, with floods, fire famine. The whole biblical BS.. But the planet will still be livable and people will survive. The trick is going to be being born into the right group at the right time. You never now what tomorrow is going to make a survival trait..😷

Empires come and go, the human race has a habit of over inflating the balloon until it bursts. Things have got worse since the industrial revolution with things like pollution, but after the balloon pops everyone picks themselves up and carry on

People have always thought the end is nigh. Apocalyptical thinking has been a steady companion of humankind since day one. Of course, the doomsayers have always been wrong, but, hey – if the world doesn't end today then it will certainly end tomorrow! 😏

It would take far more than what's happening now to wipe out humans. It's not really that bad yet.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CrazyMusicLover Life on this planet will come to an end in about 500 million years. 😏
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@helenS Life of humans can come to an end earlier but that can happen randomly. With an event completely unrelated to what's happening in the world right now.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CrazyMusicLover ... a comet impact event, for example, or an epoch of super volcano eruptions. Although I personally believe that nature will not get rid of us. In a sense, we (as humans) transcend natural history, and biological evolution.
I don't see anything in the world right now as sustainable.
Not the political situations.
Not the issues of overpopulation and mass immigrations.
Certainly not our poisoned planet.
And the fact there is no foundation of facts anymore. Since the Renaissance human society has been built on a foundation of certain truths and science. That's rapidly disappearing.
I find that more and more people are having the same intuitive sense that you have that we've entered the end of this age of man.

We’re walking a path of destruction as a whole. You don’t have to be religious to believe that.

I don't believe in "end times" and our species will survive; but whether existing societies will, is another matter. Not in forms familiar to us now, anyway.

Ironically the people most likely to adapt, may be those described as the least "developed".

Yes.. world is saturating and heading towards a new civilization putting an end to the one we are in now.
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
I think so for very many reasons. Few people seem at all bothered though. Each to their own, I guess.
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
No.

The latest probable model of the universe is that it will expand forever, cool, and I think eventually all matter will decay into radiation. So interactions will become rare and hence so will change become rare, so in that sense time will sort of "stop" since if few things change then existence is sort of timeless.
No not a chance
I believe in god
Yes bad and good things will happen but as a species we will never go extinct
They are work on colonies on mars, idea has been brought up
The only thing that would kill us off is when the sun dies
And by thst point we will figure out how to survive that

There will be change, there will be disasters, but life will go on. There are certainly bad things happening, but there are also many good things in this world. Things worth fighting for.

I believe the Apocalypse is ongoing. Even if it weren't, we don't have what it takes to halt or reverse climate change.

My granny said anout 30 years ago the end was near as the world couldn't carry on much longer...
KA9ha · 31-35, M
