I have not been drinking as much as I once was. Now when I do drink , it honestly does not make me feel too good afterwards. I know over all that’s a

Good thing, considering that drinking isn’t that great for you to begin with. That being said, becoming this “new version” of myself shouldn’t be scary, but I find myself with fear. For the longest time I’d save my money to go out for a few drinks, but now if I’m not working to save my money for drinks- what am I saving it for? Why am I working? What does this mean for my future?

You should find something you really love and make that your focus. When I quit drinking I focused on my garden. It was a good substitute because it was alive and "nagged" me every day to water or weed or figure out what I was doing wrong, what to add or subtract. It connected me to other people as my interest grew, as drinking once had, and people did notice I was getting really good at it😂
I also used it as a reward for a hard day or when I had something to celebrate. Some new things for the garden, instead of a round at the bar.
I know this seems too easy, but I'm sober 16 years now.
Its important to celebrate yourself!
Best of luck

I'll say its time to explore your inner layers. Working and money is a necessity of this life but it's not the absolute meaning.

Don't go out to drink. Do your drinking at home. I don't drink as much as I used to. But when I drink, I drink higher quality liquor. My fiance's dad (dad-in-law effective Sep 30) turned me on to single malt scotch.
