What is curious in the UK is the voltage has a frequency of 50 Hz which is very low to human hearing so the whine which is much higher pitch must be caused by something else.

@GeniUs could be harmonics or the behavior of a device such as an insulator.

Yes. I can hear buzzing/humming but the lines have some sort of suppressor on them so I assume it's a known problem. The suppressor is a flat material possible metal or ceramic in the shape of a seated bird on the power line itself (it's a wildlife sanctuary so that may be for aesthetic appearance). Also since I run through that area my watch records my heart rate which raises by between 10 and 20 beats near the power line and recovers when I move away.

I can feel power lines. It's a heaviness that is rather uncomfortable in my head and my body.
Alarms don't bother me though.

Yes. And if someone has an old tube style tv I can not only hear the weird whine but I can feel the pulse from the tube powering up in my ears.

Depending on the Voltage rating of the power lines in question you may feel and or hear discharge currents.

No. I haven’t done drugs in years. I’ve come to enjoy sobriety.
