It’s still a compliment but it is just about physical attraction .
However if you put up a photo it is difficult to judge a persons character from that and often we are too lazy to read all a persons posts etc.

I use beautiful interchangeably for both body and mind but I wouldn't blame anyone for defaulting to thinking I was only talking about their body. It's a misogynistic and uneven world we live in regarding sex and gender. :(

thanks for pointing out the obvious. it is still a compliment though and just because someone is attracted physically to a woman, does not mean her personality and so on does not do it for him also

I dislike broad generalizations. ALL men are not the same, and neither are ALL women. That being said, when someone meets you in person for the first time and says you are very beautiful, I think it's safe to say that is a snap judgement based on physical appearance alone.

The word "beautiful" can be used to define various other aspects like, beautiful heart, beautiful mind, etc. When a women does some thing very well, and men say beautiful, it has different meaning and he is not talking about her face or body. But the word "handsome" can't be used to define such aspects in case of men.

I don't know if any woman don't like to be appreciated for her beauty. You might be right. I guess when women stops to recognize the appreciation of their beauty, might be men also stops to appreciate that too.

Not all men are the same, beauty is definitely more than skin deep and the most beautiful women have beautiful minds.

Actually I tell my wife she is beautiful because she is beautiful both physically and spiritually.
