The first one is fake

It's a very dangerous place. But a group of our ancestors actually broke off and dwelt at the sea. The further and further they swam out to hunt, the more they evolved for swimming and living at sea. The merfolk are real. They're not pretty by our standards like in cartoons but they exist. There is a substantial amount of sightings and even some footage. A body was even found but unfortunately the US government confiscated it.

Yesss. The ocean is scary and incomprehensible. I don't even like sitting on beaches and looking at it. Put me in the mountains, please.
Rose0415 · 36-40, F
@uncleshawn It's a vast, seemingly endless body of water that you could easily get lost at.
uncleshawn · 41-45, M
@Rose0415 Yesss. It's an abyss, a bottomless pit, beyond comprehension. Kind of a metaphor for hell.

yeah when you think about how deep it goes, the strange life we find swimming around in it, and how unexplored it is, it can be.

Fear of the ocean is called Thalassophobia.
I get it. I get a spooky feeling when I think about the dark, endless depths.

I never go in if I can not see the bottom.
Do not want something coming up from the depths and engulfing me.

It's not intimidating until the depth increases above my chest.
