Have you ever seen those really tall, spindly radio transmission towers? You know, the ones with the slowly flashing lights at the top to warn aircraft. Someone has to replace those bulbs when they burn out.

That is definitely not a job for me

@HeWaits Yeah, don't look down whatever you do 🤭.

I LOVE talking to large groups of people. Half the college professors aren't very good at it though.

I wouldn't want to be a politician. You have to be armour-plated I think.

@Abstraction I don't do well in front of large groups at all. On two occasions I got so nervous that my mind just went completely blank, I had totally forgotten what I was just talking about, and I just stood there looking like an idiot...lol.

@SubstantialKick Oh, I get it. My first attempt, I was a student teacher. It was a country school so I only had to teach eight grade four students. I stood in front of them - complete blank. Couldn't even remember what the subject was.

Now I can get up in front of hundreds or thousands without nerves.

It's just a different mode of communication. We feel exposed, but nobody really cares about us - they are just having their own day and we're part of the furniture. Teaching helped, then lots of public communication - until I was completely relaxed. Now it's an art form for me.
A police officer. It's just too stressful, especially with everything that has been going on the past several months.
I've done the college processor thing. Lesson plans are tougher than actual speaking.
I would love being a college professor. While I hate being in front of large groups of people, I really enjoy teaching. Especially since when I am passionate about a subject I get to know everything about it. My students would be brilliant at my subject when they were done with my class.
