What is the first video game you remember playing?

Asteroids on the Atari VCS/2600. That really shows my age, hahaha 🤭.

Pong. And the only one I have ever played. Waste of time. There is no life to be lived on an electronic device.

@EnchantedArtist2 Excellent game!
@EnchantedArtist2 I used to have that on the Dreamcast. Haven't played it since 2004.
Gumba1000 · M
@latinbutterfly I played it on the PS2. It had a good sound track too, I recall.

Asteroids on a big stand-up money-slot console in a hotel lobby, although I can't remember if it cost a nickel or a dime to play. Home consoles weren't a thing yet.
VeronicaPrincess · 61-69
@VeronicaPrincess Oh wait, it might have been Pong - the Asteroids and Pong machines were right next to each other in that lobby.

I'm not sure it counts as a video game, but some text based exploration game.

@IndridCold I don't remember the name of the pc or the game, but it used a 5¼" floppy disk.
IndridCold · 46-50, M
@SW-User It was probably on an old Commodore system. I used to have a couple of those text adventure games. I thought they were fun.
SW-User
@IndridCold It was very fun indeed. It was some kind of western setting where you had to inspect saddle bags in a wooden hut.

Frogger...Atari VCS/2600...OG woodgrain model

(My first video game was really PONG but that just makes me sound "ancient" 🤫 LOL)

@SW-User Well in all reality, it is a game, maybe not on a game console, but nevertheless it is still a game :)

Pong...then I played a lot of the games on the Atari 2600 (Pac-man, Donkey Kong, Burger Time, Asteroids, Space invaders, etc.). That was pretty much the extent of my "gaming" career, though I did play a few of the example games on the original X-Box. I am not much into video games.

I tried to remember this the other day and I can't. I can't even remember which platform it was on, I do know it must have been either; Atari 2600, NES or Commodore 64.

Vaguely remember going with my family to a mall arcade back in the late 70's and playing space invaders...so I'll go with combat on the 2600...
ImOnlyMe84 · 36-40, F
Super Mario Brothers on the NES, and Zelda and Link on the NES. I really hated that game (Zelda)
UpForItNow · 22-25, F
It was probably that for me too, or maybe Pong - slightly older and much more basic.
Stevy · 46-50, M

Super Mario Bros 3 for NES I think?
Or a version of Space War on our computer.
PirateMonkeyCabinet · 36-40, M
Hard to say the exact game, but it'd have to be something on the Commodore 64. Forbidden Forest, Wizards of Wor, Hunchback at the Olympics, Jumpman Junior? Probably one of those.
