Getting a hamster

So after alot of research and the kids asking every day i decided to get a teddy_bear hamster.

So today we're off shopping to get all the supplies it will need.

A coworker had a 80 gallon tank so i won't been that.

Any tips on what to buy

Be sure the top of the 80 gallon tank seals or locks securely with a vented lid. My son's hamster could get out. I covered the lid with a cookbook so he would stop moving the lid, and he chewed through the corner of a thick cookbook.

Hamster ball, first. Then hamster wheel, and then a habitrail...which is lots of fun.

Hamsters like little alfalfa cubes. He will also need a water feeder.

Besides food and a water bottle - I loved the clear ball that you can put him in and let him roll around the house. I also had a wheel in the cage that he could run in

I always wanted a cage with the tubes coming out of it but never got one

A few houses for its cage
Bedding
Toys
Food and treats
I spent most of the night researching what is best for it.

I only say it because i don't know if we'll get a male or female. I read males are better.
