I was walking and this man greeted me so I greeted him back. After that he tried to engage me in conversation and I said I didn't want to talk,

while I'm walking. He started asking why and when he got no response he said I was a bad person and that women from my neighbourhood are stuck up. I knew he was trying to bait me into a conversation but I just kept walking like I couldn't hear a word he was saying. Eventually he gave up and walked away. No one owes anyone a conversation. Existing outside isn't a conversational prompt. I didn't leave my house to talk to a random entitled stranger. I left to get weed and food😂.

Carry your car keys in your hand. With the key pointing out. This was recommended by a police person talking to a group of students. Use it on the neck in self defence. Hope you never have to.
Not illegal in the uk.

I do that from time to time in a dubious street. A precaution yes. But I feel safer.

Walking alone for a man is not too bad, and I can run, But for a woman you have to be so careful.
