What distance do you consider walkable for a usual trip, like when shopping for groceries. I don't mean going for a hike but for daily things.

I live in a city conducive walking, and I walk a lot, so it’s not uncommon for me to walk between two and three miles to get groceries, go to the local bookstore… I also walk a lot to stay healthy because, personally, I think too many people are lazy, and if they live in a place that makes walking easy, they would still rather jump in a car, at a risk to their long-term health. And as you get older staying healthy becomes more and more crucial. Walking a mile burns about one hundred calories, and if you walk at a relatively fast pace, is excellent for the heart, fat burning…I have friends who live in my neighborhood, and they all either drive or take a Uber car, and my wife and I just don’t understand it.
