I've walked further in a single session over even terrain, but the hardest walk I ever did was a traverse of the Presidential Mountain Range. The typical route is about 24.5 miles. But for us, from car to car, was around 31 miles.

@alan20 That time was pretty awesome. I've done the traverse 3 times.
The time I'm talking about was 15 hours on a single summer day.
I've also done it in the winter, and in late fall with an overnight stay involved for the fall one, where it rained almost the entire time. The winter trip had 2 nights spent in the woods, and it was as cold as a witch's tit out.
But yeah, it's beautiful up there when you look out upon the world from it's rooftop.
