Is sex at the gym really a regular, common thing or just an urban myth?

I’m naive. I went to the gym to use the weights, prescribed by my doctor, a sports doctor who worked for the Sky cycling team. Fifty low resistance repetitive three times a week.
Increased my running from 2 minutes to twenty on a treadmill.
Now run three miles, three times a week in the countryside. Have weights at home.
Lost three stone. Came off two blood pressure tablets. Diabetes under control.
Disposed of the gym.

Did I go for the wrong reason?
Never saw anyone being chatted up at 7.20 in the morning.

I hated going, but clearly my body needed it.

I met my partner at the gym and many others there met and had relationships or affairs. One very loving man had 3 women on the go at one time.

Never been a gym bunny but after - met through a dating app. I'd say the most common answer to - how'd you get together? - when I ask it.

I dont know how common it is, but from my experience its definitely not an urban myth

I haven’t seen it, but I’ve not gone looking for it either. Nothing surprises me anymore.

Never been aware of such exercise routines at the gym, the only grunting is from the attention seeking musclebound poser types.
