Is sex at the gym really a regular, common thing or just an urban myth?

I'm not really a gym person anymore, so apart from one time in a sauna I've not done sex at a gym since I gave up on them in my 30's.

I met my partner at the gym and many others there met and had relationships or affairs. One very loving man had 3 women on the go at one time.
