Why are gyms filled with unfriendly people?

I've never been to a gym but that has been my friend's experience too. Or also many people who go there for any other reason than to work out.

Did belong to a gym where I live. Where some people were rude. Telling me not to stand where they are .Left and changed gyms

I joined up at my local recreation centre. It's cheaper then the other gym. Most of the time, I'm the only one in there. I don't mind saying 'G'day' to people as I encounter them but they never say 'hello' back.

Ya, some are pretty rude, I don’t get it either.

I’ve been told I don’t talk to anyone when I’m at the gym.
I don’t want to be rude. But I don’t want to be that creepy old guy talking to everyone and people think I’m hitting on them.
