I started exercising/being active again

I been walking on my road after I get home from work and started riding my bicycle again. It rained yesterday so I didn't go out, but the burn in my legs is getting less with riding the bicycle. Also been doing squats to help.

Any tips for how I can go long distances on bicycle? I want to ride this bike trail to the end, but going back to the car is all uphill. So I'm looking for methods I can utilize for bicycle riding to where I can keep going long distances/long time.

Thanks.

is it a hybrid, trail bike or moutain bike with full suspension? How big are the wheels and the frame? how tall are you ?

join your local facebook biking group. they will give you biking trails. if you don't have a bike rack on your car get one unless you have an SUV or someting.

If you extrinsically motivated get biking buddies if intrensic just find trails.

get chain oil and bike pump if you don't have them. if you have to oil a trail bike a lot because the trails dust / dry the chains out ---when contrasted to a road bike. If the tire is low and you ride it you are more likely to puncture it .

good for you for biking
When I learned the different gears for my bike that helped me when going uphill
@midnightrose yeah my road is really odd. A right out of my driveway goes down a hill but it's incremental so you don't see it. A left out of my driveway is uphill, but because it's incremental, you didn't see it.

I just been starting with going up then back down to the house. I've been trying to not overdo it. I'm starting small first. And until I can go up the hill with no burn, then I'll start increasing the length I travel.

Sucks because the last 3 days has been rain so haven't been able to go out, but I should be able to today.

@twiigss 👍well done at least you are making the effort and sticking to it
@smiler2012 yeah if I'm motivated enough and determined I can usually stick to a plan.
