Any work-out / fitness people can help me out?

I want/need to build up my leg muscles a little, squats are no good because I have knee troubles. Would building quads help strengthen my knee?

I'm not exactly a body builder here, but I bought some resistance bands. I have started an exercise where I'm seated with the band around my ankles, and I extend one leg at a time.

With bad knees, you need to get cleared by your doctor before working out that requires bending it. There are lots of isometric and resistance band exercises if you cant do any weights.

@TexChik Because it's not weight bearing though I don't think it is too much of a concern. I know 100% the first thing I would be told is 'lose weight' as that is what is taxing my knees, I have put on around 20lbs since my last visit.

I will take it easy though for sure and look at more resistance stuff.

you can buy hinges at the hardware store to replace the hinges in your knees. 🍝

After reading the comments I say u need to lose the weight. Your knee problems are not going to go away till u lose some.

bycicle.. You can get an indoor one.. and make sure it is adjusted so that your feet just reach the pedal at the bottom of it's rotation.. This will put less stress on your knee when the pedal is at it's highest point..

Swimming..

How about cycling? Either stationary or regular. Great aerobic exercise and it really hits your quads and bum. Also not a lot of stress or impact on your knees.

Cycling made my knee worse. Maybe i piled it on too thick. AliceCBD got me walking again, though, and comfortably. Hope you find the right thing for you.

Strengthening/building the muscle around your knees can make a huge difference. Extensions are the best for that.

Maybe swimming would be a better alternative?
