Very anxious today

I have so much stuff going on today

Sissy and I have our appointment with the neurologist. She is really wanting to focus on my OCD issues and try to get me to manage it better.

We are doing a med change on Sissy. I am not sure I like the idea. But Joel and I talked about it and if the meds change her with her OCD I'm okay with it.

Then everyone at work is going to a lunch in downtown. I hate going to those. Eating in front of people. And I really have to hold my tics and outbursts in. Something my neurologist no longer wants me to do but in this situation I really don't have a choice. I can't risk shouting something out that I can't control in the middle of the presentation.

Joel is seeing his doctor. He wants to get the all clear to go back to full duty at work but I don't think he's ready. I could tell he was in pain when we did all the unpacking Sunday. I also hope he talks to the doctor about getting light headed. It happened again Sunday.

And I also am going to my doctor for my stomach and now my ankle.

Not looking forward to today at all.

Do you have a squishy ball or a rock to keep in your pocket? I carry a wooden heart my hubby brought me from Isreal that I hold when I'm anxious! I have a pink rock from one of my girlfriends too. Rocks are soothing for me 🙂

@PromiseProtectionProvision I have a stress ball I carry and earbuds
Since your tics are caused by a medical condition... are there not any disability equality laws that you could utilise to have an adjustment made to your work tasks???

Here your tourettes and autism are both recognised disabilities that you can have "reasonable adjustments" put into place for.

@HootyTheNightOwl my boss is very understanding about my tourette's he makes a lot of accommodations for me at work like I don't take office appointments I do them all over the phone that way I can mute the line if I have an outburst so the client doesn't hear it but in this situation it's hard because we are going to a luncheon I mean I guess technically I don't have to go and I may not it depends on how my appointment with my neurologist goes but my boss would understand if I didn't. It is just a good opportunity to learn about all the upcoming changes to health insurance during open enrollment.
@Cigarguy101 If they're already making adjustments for you, getting this information in written (or other preferred) format shouldn't be that hard for them to achieve.

Your comfort has to be priority - especially when the effects of burnout will affect your ability to work for quite a while should you get to that stage.

ALL of those appointments in one day? I sure do hope you can just go to urgent care for your ankle.
Cigarguy101 · 41-45, M
@4meAndyou it is wrapped and I have ice on it right now. It means alot that you care enough to say something.

I can never handle more than one medical appointment in one day. Hope everything goes well for you, Joel and Sissy.
Cigarguy101 · 41-45, M
@Barefooter25 honestly even though it gives me more anxiety I like having them all in one day so I can get it all over with

@Cigarguy101 Even though I don't mind going out to lunch with co-workers, one thing I am never comfortable with when it comes to the work environment are happy hours. Bars and restaurants are always crowded with people talking about their jobs. That's not for me.
