I was going to suggest some of the naughty low cost -- indeed, mostly free -- choices mentioned below, but living with his parents does make it awkward, depending upon your living arrangements as well. But handcrafted things, especially meaningful cards or personal notes, gift certificates for a future outing together when circumstances might be better. Or combine it with the naughty side with a gift certificate for an outing to a nude beach when the weather improves. 🤪
Seriously, step out of the materialistic box. I always was struck that my wife showed greater appreciation for things I took the time to create, write, or the perfect card -- things with a little bit of time and effort behind them -- than materialistic gifts. And I must admit, I generally respond likewise. A gift that took some understanding of me, what I appreciate, and a little effort/time to produce always means a little bit more.

The only one I remember was when I walked in from a business trip and found my wife wearing a sheer red teddy and a smile. There was a nice card by the bourbon bottle, but I don't remember what it said.

@Katie01 why is that?
Katie01 · F
@Cinderellagirl only being willing to spend £10 on a valentine's present is honestly pathetic. £200 is the bare minimum and even that's pushing it
Cinderellagirl · F
@Katie01 I'm still at school, so think of that

@Cinderellagirl Love it! I recently went for lunch in the pub where my friends and I used to get served when we were 16/17. It's changed a lot since then
Cinderellagirl · F
