Let it cool down. If you even leave a plastic bottle in the sun the chemicals from the plastic will leech into your water. So let it cool down completely.

I wouldn't even put warm water in a plastic bottle, because it reacts with the plastic, and you get all sorts of chemicals into your water.

I could taste the chemicals that leach out of hot water in a plastic bottle if I leave it in the car and its still hot. Personally I would use a metal or a glass one if they make it.

@MarmeeMarch I do have a glass bottle actually, im kinda scared it will crack the glass tho

The plastic will take the heat. I don't know what kind of plastic or if the hot water will release chemicals from the plastic.
