@SethGreene531 Right! So who changed the dates of Samhain from the equinox to a Julian calendar date and then called it Halloween? 🙃
Please keep in mind the Catholic Church didn't exist until the 4th century. So witch burning couldn't exist until then either.

I love Halloween..
Seems there's always been an alure to the cosmetic benefit of the dark.
A time when light can fellowship with darkness perhaps.
Plus I'm stoked for left over candy.

Depends on what sect of beliefs. Some do have Samhain on Nov 1st.
It avoids the mass marketing. As well as allows for the real purpose.
Christians purposely did that way to confuse the issue. The Oct 31st isn't the equinox anyway. Neither the Julian nor Gregorian calendar existed 3,000 years ago.
Why Stonehenge was created over 3,000 years ago BTW. To mark both equinox.
The crossover could only happen at the equinox by EUROPEAN Celtic traditions. I stress European because Celts themselves started in the Alp mountains long before that 3,000 years ago.

This is why I stay creepy

I have to agree, the season doesn’t last long enough to fully appreciate it. And although I do celebrate the other Sabbats there is something special about Samhain.
