The Halloween season is way too short for me
I can't start it before October, it doesn't feel right.
Samhain is October and October is Samhain.
The two are one.
But 31 days are not enough time for me to fully enjoy it.
The pumpkins and Jack O' Lanterns
The skeletal trees shadowed against the sky representing death in life.
The candy and caramel apples and orange frosted cupcakes.
The thinning veil, the ghosts and cemetery walks.
The decorations in all the yards, the summer whirlygigs replaced by skeletons and witches.
The art, the books, the horror movies and the Great Pumpkin.
The rituals and spells and candles.
I figure to fully immerse myself to satisfaction I need October to be 157 days long.
