All Saints Day. People in Latin America, Italy and the Philippines visit their departed in cemeteries. Many make a picnic out of it and leave favorite things of their departed on graves. Food, cigarettes, booze etc.

... yes? but mostly no.
Halloween[a] is a celebration observed in many countries on 31 October, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day. It is at the beginning of the observance of Allhallowtide,[11] the time in the Christian liturgical year dedicated to remembering the dead, including saints (hallows), martyrs, and all the faithful departed

(I had to check wikipedia). so halloween is hallows eve; the eve of all hallows day.

@dirge It's important to remember, also, that in the past, the day began at sunset.

all hallows eve is the night before all saints day
"Hallow" is an archaic English word for a saint or holy person
These days, along with All Souls' Day on November 2, make up the three days collectively called Allhallowtide, a time for Christians to honor saints and pray for the recently departed

These are old church events.

All Hallows Eve on 31st October. (I learnt only this morning that "hallow" was an old word for a "saint", as in "hallowed".)

All Saints' Day on 1st November.

They are times of remembrance, not of the rubbish the ignorant supermarkets have invented and foist upon us.

No - the "ee-'en" element means "eve" / "evening" - here the evening before All Saints Day.
Yes but absolutely no. Christmas used to be in January too.
mainvane · 61-69, M
It's an important Wicca / Pagan holiday

Hallow Eve is Halloween (Hallow e'en)
Oneofthestormboys · 56-60, M
By that logic, does that mean that 23rd of December is Christmas Eve Eve?
All Hallows' Day or All Saints' Day.
