I used to like watching them at 9pm from Brazil when I was working. It's their summer so it's on the beach.

Never heard any fireworks, I might have dozed off. Usually hear a lot of them way before midnight.

Nope. I was streaming video, and realized it was 2 minutes to midnight too late to find fireworks on television. 🤗

Yes! I saw Sydney Australia kick off the countdown and their's was absolutely spectacular! Greatest show on earth, as far as I was concerned!
When the clock finally counted down to midnight in New York City however, it was raining quite hard but the sight of that illuminated globe-shaped object falling like a 1970's disco ball from the KitKat Club on Broadway Avenue after hours, was definitely an orgasmic experience for me and my overnight guests to witness, despite us watching it unfold on TV, but not exactly totally unpredictable as to where that disco fireball would actually land nor how long it would take to get there.
This year's Best New Year's fireworks award goes to Sydney Australia! 🏆
