Winter is a time for hibernating. It reminds us to slow down and then in the spring we get a chance for renewal
peterlee · M
@pituitarypendulum renewal and taking stock is important. Yes.

@peterlee absolutely

The days are certainly gratifyingly a little longer, but not always warmer. I still find I need the heating on in the morning, although this morning the sun is shining through my south facing living room window which is very uplifting.
When I was teaching, we had a break towards the end of February, which I always enjoyed and sometimes went away within the UK and had a lovely time. Because it's a short month, it does seem to fly by after a long dark January.

The mornings and evenings slowly drawing out; with the rate of change accelerating as we progress through the month.
Yes, some saving on gas and electricity costs.
Otherwise I take each day, month and season as it comes, and years ago I realised bleating about "roll on Summer" is only wishing your life away.

Good times can happen in any of the 12 months that make up a year. No matter when it'll be good, and this is caught by the aesthete best imo, instead of a permanent optimistic attitude which seems more like a mask for showing others how good things are when they are probably not.

Just over three weeks until the start of Spring. The weather is still horrible, but the days are getting noticeably longer.
And a two month holiday from Council Tax.

@SunshineGirl true... But 13 hours of sunlight, the real stuff, can get boring😛
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@Convivial I don't remember what sunshine looks like 🌞

@SunshineGirl soon.....

I like February because my oldest two kids were born this month, and the days are getting longer, meaning my seasonal affective disorder is getting better.🙂

Someone I love has a birthday in Feb. Spring begins for us in late Feb. It means I made it through January.
My birth month

I like the signs of life at this time of year! (countryside near Godalming, Surrey)
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@supersnipe That's wonderful. No signs up in Somerset yet. Sadly a lot of it is still under water, although fortunately not around me.
peterlee · M
@supersnipe These are lovely.

Where I live here in Iowa, I don't like anything about February.
faery · F
It's only 2 to 3 days shorter, so I don't feel any great gain or loss. The year is still divided by 12

As my wife says one month closer to April!
HoeBag · 51-55, F
At least we don't have to hear about happy new year or about empty resolutions.
dirge · M
