What was your first concert? [I Went to a Concert]

My first was the Ramones when I was fifteen. It was at a smaller place that way back was a dance hall but had been used as a bingo parlour for a while. Tickets were $7.50.

I happened to have a deck of cards in my jacket and after a while of pogo-ing I looked down and there were cards all over the floor. I picked some up and flung some at the stage. One went right by Joey's head (I think it got his hair) and another bounced off DeeDee's guitar. They didn't even flinch ... probably used to be bottles and stuff.

A month later, I was at an open air concert at a stadium with 70,000 other people to see The Who, Heart, J Geils B, and Nash the Slash for $15.

I feel bad for kids now. Concerts just aren't affordable anymore. Back then they were used mostly to promote record sales which was where the money was made. Now it's the other way around as nobody buys music these days but they somehow can get hundreds per ticket. I remember paying $180 for SIX seats to Pink Floyd.

My first rock concert was The Monkees. My good friends dad was a local DJ at the Top 40 station putting on the show and got us front row seats for free. We were 14 and couldn't hear much because of all the screaming

One of the personalities on a radio station here (Toronto) did a parody using love removal machine called Snow Removal Machine. It was so funny.

The Ramones in a small venue would be so cool!
zork0000 · 56-60, M
@JimboSaturn It definitely was.

I wonder what was the biggest place they played. Other than a festival type setting, I don't expect they played any arenas.
