What to get my dad for birthday?

He's in the hospital and was diagnosed last week with aggressive Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I just can't wrap my head around it. I truly don't want to lose him. 🙁
We are still talking treatment (chemotherapy) but they don't want to essentially do it because it's high risk for fatal infection in his condition ( former stroke victim).
His birthday is this month...what gift could I get?

Maybe one of his favourite foods (that's still approved by his docs/dietitian)? My dad was never a fan of the hospital food while he stayed there.
Just spend time with him in the hospital... I did when my dad was in the hospital when he had leukemia before he died..Be with him because he needs your support not any material thing, because he needs you for his birthday this year. God bless...😌

A nice pocket locket type watch with a picture of your mom in it. Some pajamas, a personalized photo album. Gather some letters from everyone close to him and make a book for him even if they text or email them to you just write them down from that person. That way if hes ever feeling lonely he can read the letters or you can read them to him. Tell them to keep the letters light and friendly like the weather and whats going on in their lives etc....

If he's a reader, and has a favorite author, well that's where my mind goes naturally, plus I suggest a nice card with a letter expressing warm sentiments towards him, and saying you'll be there for him through all of this.

Audio books... Easy to use, and it will take him away from where he is right now... Good luck with the treatment...

A warm and fluffy blanket of sweet colours, to give some colour and home feeling to the hospital room, plus he'll use and appreciate it, I imagine..:)

Ask him what he wants most at the moment. Something comfortable like a soft blanket, his favorite food that he can eat easily or whatever else and get it for him.

The best gift is you spending time with him without dealing with his medical for a moment

His favorite meal if he’s not on a restricted diet. Board games, crosswords , anything to pass the time

Pj'sand a comfortable pillow. Hospital beds and laying in them in one position is not too comfortable

Give him your love...

In his condition I would just get him a card and spend the day with him.

Prayers and a simple small cross to wear around his neck.
